Quick answer

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are gel injections, most often hyaluronic acid (HA), placed under the skin to restore lost volume, define features such as the lips, chin and nose, and soften folds. HA fillers give an immediate result that lasts roughly 6–18 months and can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if needed. Collagen stimulators such as Sculptra build volume gradually instead.

At MIN Clinic the doctor assesses facial proportions, chooses the product by area and injects conservatively, often with a cannula to reduce bruising. Dissolving injections are available to correct overfilled, lumpy or migrated filler placed elsewhere.

FAQ

Dermal filler questions we hear most

Can’t find your answer? Message our English-speaking team on WhatsApp.

How long do fillers last?

Hyaluronic acid fillers usually last 6–18 months depending on area and product — lips fade sooner, chin and nose last longer. Collagen stimulators can last up to two years.

Can filler be dissolved?

Yes. HA filler can be broken down with hyaluronidase injections, usually within 24–48 hours. See filler dissolving.

Is there downtime after filler?

Most people have mild swelling or small bruises for 1–3 days. Avoid alcohol, saunas and intense exercise for the first day or two.

What are the risks?

Bruising, swelling and tenderness are common. Rare but serious risks include infection and vascular occlusion, which is why fillers should be placed by a physician who knows facial anatomy and can treat complications immediately.

Can I combine filler with Botox?

Yes, they are often combined on the same day — toxin relaxes movement while filler restores volume. See botulinum toxins.
