Thread lift in Gangnam, Seoul
Dissolvable threads placed under the skin to lift descended cheeks, jowls and jawline immediately — and to stimulate collagen that keeps firming for months.
What is a thread lift?
A thread lift is a minimally invasive procedure in which absorbable threads (PDO, PLLA or PCL) with small barbs or cogs are inserted under the skin through a fine needle or cannula. They mechanically lift sagging tissue of the cheeks, jowls, jawline and neck and stimulate new collagen as they dissolve. The lift is visible immediately, with collagen effects developing over 1–2 months.
It is performed under local anaesthesia in 30–60 minutes. Most patients resume normal activity within 24–48 hours, and results typically last 12–18 months depending on thread type.

Thread lift questions we hear most
Can’t find your answer? Message our English-speaking team on WhatsApp.
How long does a thread lift last?
Results typically last 12–18 months. PCL and PLLA threads tend to last longer than PDO, and collagen produced around the threads helps the result persist after they dissolve.
Does a thread lift hurt?
The area is numbed with local anaesthesia, so most patients feel pressure and tugging rather than pain. Tenderness for a few days afterwards is normal.
What are the side effects?
Swelling, bruising, mild asymmetry and dimpling are common and usually settle within 1–2 weeks. Infection or a visible thread are uncommon and treatable; your doctor will review you before you fly home.
When can I fly after a thread lift?
Flying is usually fine after 1–2 days. We recommend scheduling early in your stay to allow a follow-up check.
Can I combine a thread lift with Ultherapy?
Yes. Many patients combine Ultherapy for deep tightening with threads for immediate repositioning, usually with Ultherapy done first.
