Age spot removal in Gangnam, Seoul
Fade the brown spots that years of sun leave on the face, hands and décolleté — with pigment lasers or IPL chosen after a dermatologist confirms what each spot is.
How are age spots removed?
Age spots (solar lentigines or "liver spots") are flat brown patches caused by years of UV exposure. They are removed with pigment lasers such as pico or Q-switched lasers, or with IPL, which shatter concentrated melanin so it crusts off or is cleared by the body. Most spots fade noticeably in 1–4 sessions. A doctor should check spots first, because some raised or irregular lesions need a different treatment or a biopsy.
Small dark crusts usually form over treated spots and fall off within about a week, revealing lighter skin. Strict sun protection afterwards is essential to prevent darkening and recurrence.

Several brown marks look alike. Age spots are larger, flat and appear later in life; freckles are small and fade in winter; melasma forms symmetric patches; seborrheic keratoses are raised and waxy. Each responds to different treatment, so your doctor examines every spot before treating it, and refers any suspicious lesion for further assessment.

Flat, defined, after years of sun.
Freckles
Small, inherited, darken in summer.
Melasma
Symmetric patches, hormone-linked.
Keratoses
Raised, waxy — a different treatment.

Age spot removal questions we hear most
Can’t find your answer? Message our English-speaking team on WhatsApp.
Can age spots be removed permanently?
A treated spot can clear completely, but new spots can form with further sun exposure. Daily sunscreen and hats greatly reduce recurrence.
How many sessions do age spots need?
Many spots fade a lot after one session; darker or larger spots may need 2–4 sessions about 4 weeks apart.
Does age spot removal hurt?
It feels like quick snaps of a rubber band. Numbing cream is applied first, so most people find it very tolerable.
Can I fly home after age spot laser?
Yes. Flying is fine; keep the crusts moisturised, do not pick them, and use sunscreen. Plan treatment early in your trip if you want crusts gone before you leave.
Are age spots the same as sun spots?
They largely overlap — both are solar lentigines. See also sun spot removal and lentigines removal.
