Hyperpigmentation treatment in Gangnam, Seoul
Dark patches from sun, hormones or inflammation fade best when the treatment matches the pigment. We diagnose the depth first, then combine lasers, peels and skincare.
How is hyperpigmentation treated?
Hyperpigmentation is darker skin caused by excess melanin from sun damage, hormones, acne or injury. It is treated by matching the method to the pigment depth: laser toning or pico laser break up melanin, brightening peels and tyrosinase inhibitors reduce new pigment, and daily sunscreen prevents relapse. Most cases improve over 4–6 sessions. Treating too aggressively can trigger more pigment, so settings are kept conservative.
At MIN Clinic, AI 3D skin analysis and a dermatologist’s examination show whether pigment sits in the epidermis, the dermis or both — the key to choosing the right laser and number of sessions.

Hyperpigmentation treatment questions we hear most
Can’t find your answer? Message our English-speaking team on WhatsApp.
What is the fastest way to get rid of hyperpigmentation?
Defined spots can fade in one or two pico laser sessions, but diffuse or hormonal pigment needs a gentle series. Rushing with high energy can cause rebound pigmentation.
Is hyperpigmentation permanent?
Usually not. Most types fade with treatment and sun protection, though melasma tends to recur and needs maintenance.
Which laser is best for hyperpigmentation?
It depends on depth and type: laser toning for melasma and diffuse pigment, pico for distinct spots, IPL when redness is also present.
Can hyperpigmentation get worse after laser?
It can in sensitive or darker skin if settings are too strong. We use conservative energies and check your skin each visit to minimise this risk.
Does post-acne pigmentation need a different plan?
Yes — see post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Calming active inflammation comes first, then gentle toning or peels.
