Quick answer

How are pigmentation and redness treated?

Pigmentation and redness are treated by targeting their cause: excess melanin (melasma, sun spots, freckles, PIH) responds to pigment lasers such as laser toning and pico, plus brightening peels, while redness from dilated vessels or rosacea responds to IPL and vascular-focused care. Most plans combine sessions with strict sun protection. Accurate diagnosis matters, because the wrong energy can darken some pigment.

At MIN Clinic each plan starts with AI 3D skin analysis and a dermatologist’s examination to separate surface from deep pigment and pigment from redness. We then build a series you can fit around a visit to Seoul.

FAQ

Pigmentation and redness treatment questions we hear most

Can’t find your answer? Message our English-speaking team on WhatsApp.

What is the best treatment for pigmentation in Korea?

There is no single best treatment; it depends on the pigment type. Melasma usually needs gentle laser toning, while distinct spots and freckles respond to pico laser or IPL. A dermatologist’s diagnosis comes first.

Can pigmentation come back after laser?

Yes. Sun exposure, hormones and inflammation can trigger new pigment, especially melasma. Daily sunscreen and occasional maintenance sessions keep results longer.

How many sessions will I need?

Spots and freckles may clear in 1–3 sessions; melasma and diffuse uneven tone usually need 5–10 sessions spaced 1–2 weeks apart.

Is laser safe for Asian or darker skin?

Yes, when settings are conservative. Darker skin types have a higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, so we use lower energies and build gradually.

Can I get treated on a short trip to Seoul?

Yes. Many patients start with an assessment and one or two sessions, then continue with home care or return visits. Message us on WhatsApp (wa.link/minclinic) to plan around your dates.
