Quick answer

How is facial redness treated?

Persistent facial redness is usually caused by dilated small blood vessels, chronic inflammation or a weakened skin barrier. It is treated with vascular light therapy such as IPL, which heats and closes visible capillaries, combined with anti-inflammatory and barrier-repair skincare and avoidance of triggers. Most people see calmer skin within 1–3 sessions. If redness comes with bumps, burning or eye irritation, it may be rosacea and needs medical treatment too.

At MIN Clinic we first identify the cause — flushing, broken capillaries, post-acne redness, sensitivity or rosacea — and review triggers such as heat, alcohol, spicy food and harsh skincare.

FAQ

Redness treatment questions we hear most

Can’t find your answer? Message our English-speaking team on WhatsApp.

What causes persistent facial redness?

Common causes are dilated capillaries, rosacea, post-acne inflammation, sun damage and a weakened skin barrier from harsh products. Triggers include heat, alcohol, spicy food and stress.

Does IPL get rid of redness permanently?

IPL can significantly reduce visible vessels and flushing, but new vessels can form over time. Occasional maintenance and trigger control keep results longer.

Is redness the same as rosacea?

Not always. Rosacea is a chronic condition with flushing, bumps or burning; simple redness may come from vessels or irritation. See rosacea for medical care.

Is there downtime after redness treatment?

Usually not. Skin may look flushed for a few hours; some people see mild swelling. You can wear makeup the next day.

Can I treat post-acne red marks?

Yes. Red marks after acne respond well to vascular light. Brown marks are a different problem — see post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
